Welcome to our Lab

Warm welcome to the Embedded Systems and Networks Laboratory (ESNet) at the Department of Computer Science and Electrical Engineering of the University of Maryland Baltimore County (UMBC). Our lab members are conducting leading edge research on embedded and networked computer systems, with a major emphasis on the design and management of wireless sensors networks. Active areas of research include network architecture and protocols, underwater communication, medium access control and routing protocols for ad-hoc and sensor networks, energy-aware system design, secure communication, fault tolerance, topology management, and applications of sensor and actuator networks. Sponsors include the national science foundations, the national security agency and industry. Here you can find more about what we do, get introduced to the current and former lab members and become aware of our publications. You may contact the lab director, Prof. Mohamed Younis, if you have any question. You are also welcome to pay us a visit. We are located in room 391 in the information technology and engineering building.
